osTicket Theme Installation Guide

Install the dashboard theme as a plugin in about five minutes.

  1. Step 1: Upload Plugin Files

    Upload the zip file into your osticket/include/plugins/ directory and extract it there.

  2. Step 2: Set Permissions

    Give write permission to the plugin directory so osTicket can access the files.

  3. Step 3: Install the Plugin

    Log in to your /scp/ and go to Admin → Manage → Plugins → Add New Plugin, then install the ost-dashboard plugin.

  4. Step 4: Enable the Plugin

    Once installed, enable the plugin from the plugins list.

  5. Step 5: Create an Instance

    Create a new instance with any name you prefer, then enable the instance.

Before You Start

A few things worth knowing up front

  • This theme is intended for osTicket version 1.17 and above.
  • The theme applies to the client, agent and admin logged-in areas.
  • You might need write permissions for the plugin folder, depending on your host.
  • Use a valid email for support contact so you receive our replies.
  • Free support is available for minor tweaks if your installation differs from the demo.

Troubleshooting

The issues people hit most often

The plugin does not appear in the plugins list

Make sure the extracted folder sits directly inside include/plugins/ — not nested inside a second folder created by the unzip. osTicket only scans one level deep.

I installed it but nothing changed

Installing the plugin is not enough. You also need to enable it, create an instance, and then enable that instance. Steps 4 and 5 above cover this.

I get a permissions error on upload

Give the plugin directory write permission (usually 755). On shared hosting this is sometimes set through the file manager rather than over FTP.

Will an osTicket update remove the theme?

No. The theme is a plugin and does not modify any core file, so osTicket updates leave it in place.
